He rang the bell!

I know I haven’t been updating this space, but I figured it’s only apt that this post is in here today, because …

Alistair has rung the bell!

After 2.5 years, Alistair’s cancer treatment has finally come to an end. Thank God for His healing and strength through it all. And what an incredibly challenging journey it’s been.

So many ups. So many downs. So much pain. So much tears. So much fear. But so much love too.

We’ve received loads of care and support from those around us: family, friends, doctors, nurses, bosses, colleagues, clients – sometimes even strangers! And I want to say, we really appreciate you.

Thank you for loving us, for finding ways to support us, for listening to us, for being understanding whenever our plans had to change (and there were times when they changed all the time, at the last minute!).

Thank you for giving us space – or sometimes even invading our space – when we needed it. Thank you for praying with us and believing with us. Thank you for journeying with us.

Of course, the biggest clap and cheer goes to Alistair, my son, my boy, my champion, my hero. You were the one who had to bear it all. I wished so many times I could take it away from you, but you surprised me again and again with your courage, resilience and strength. And also, your ever overflowing positivity and joy.

You’re amazing.

The journey ahead is still not without its ups and downs, but I pray that it will be as smooth as it can be for you from here on. And that you’ll be surrounded with the best of health, happiness and blessings all the days of your life.

No more chemo!!!!
