Sorry for my absence. I’ve been pretty preoccupied lately, what with Alistair becoming more mobile and cheeky and bent on disturbing his big sis. My daily task and goal is now to pry Alistair away from stealing / breaking / snatching Amy’s stuff, and also to stop Amy from prematurely scolding Alistair (for his inevitable stealing / breaking / snatching of her stuff).

Of wedding anniversary and febrile fits

We had planned it for weeks. It was to be a romantic date night away from the kids for the first time in 4 months. We were looking forward to having a yummy Korean dinner, complete with maracoons for dessert. We would have time to look at each other’s eyes and have meaningful conversations.

Being a stay home mom

For the first time since becoming a mom, I am now a fully stay-home mom with no help whatsoever. I know I risk sounding spoilt and pampered here, but the fact is that I have had help since Amy was born because we were fortunate to be living near my in-laws, and subsequently we lived with them.

Amy turns three

Even as I am typing this, she is in the midst of annoying me by kicking her toys everywhere. And she is doing it on purpose because she is staring at me with that smug face and announcing to me “Amy is kicking the playground. Amy is kicking the Peppa Pig playground mama.”

Fourth Mother’s Day

This year’s my fourth Mother’s Day celebration as a mummy.

The first year was an awkward and sad one, as I had just lost Alexa. I was between wanting to be recognized as a mother and not be recognized as a mother. It was a very confusing and angry moment.

The next year onwards, I had Amy, and this year, I have Alistair too.
